The Engagement Series

The Arielle Ratner Engagement Series is a capsule collection of customizable engagement rings for the design-minded bride. The series offers pieces that blend seamlessly with any ensemble or destination, reflecting not only love and commitment but also a strong sense of personal style and sophistication. Each style is as versatile as the intended client – transitioning from barn to beach to black-tie soiree. They are made to be lived in joyfully and unapologetically. A second skin and true expression of you.

The Stone

Diamonds are mined and cut by the millions each year, but only a limited number of antique cut diamonds are still in circulation today. These precursors to our modern-day round brilliant cuts have wider, more geometric facets, resulting in pops of sparkle instead of the disco ball dazzle we see in diamond cuts today. They’re perfectly imperfect, and that’s part of their charm. I’ve always been passionate about the way they capture and play with light, which is why I’ve become an expert in sourcing them. I have an eye for quality, and access to the very best of what exists on the market.

Old mine and old European cut diamonds are the most common of the antique diamond cuts, and the history and technique behind them is fascinating. Diamond cutters in the 18th and 19th centuries were inventive in their approach, assessing every diamond individually and making cuts to bring out the best color and sparkle for each stone. The diamonds were meant to dazzle under the era’s low-light conditions such as candles and gas lamps. Cutting by hand and eye-balling the cuts meant that no two diamonds would ever be the same.

The Perch Ring

The Perch Ring is one of my signature styles and the inaugural piece in the Engagement Series. The silhouette embodies classic design with a modern twist. Featuring an intricate, ornately-set mounting and a streamlined, fluid band, it juxtaposes a masculine and feminine aesthetic. The pavé mounting can be customized with emeralds, sapphires, or rubies, allowing clients to create a truly unique and eye-catching work of art.

The Nebula Ring

The Nebula Ring is made from one continuous piece of metal. Round edges and a cushion-like shape create a sense of volume and uniformity with no obvious seams or direction. The band flows smoothly into the setting, only interrupted by the stone itself as it settles into the metal and takes on an almost amorphous shape. Inspired by majestic, otherworldly cloud formations – the birthplace of stars in space, this design is an artful blend of modern and timeless.

The Filo Ring

The Filo Ring is all about movement of form, an essential design principal for me as a former ballet dancer. I have always been drawn to spherical shapes and their representation of infinity – a form without beginning or end. This style is especially complementary to antique cut stones, celebrating the individuality of Old Mined and Old European Diamonds. With a large facet pattern and unique depth, it showcases not only the table of the stone but also the entirety of the diamond. The Filo ring was designed to highlight the unusual fire in these antique cuts by exposing their brilliance through a wire-like setting.

The Mosaic Ring

The Mosaic Ring is a classic design with an ornate, modern setting – perfect for the bride who isn’t afraid to stand out. The name derives from the technique of creating a mosaic of diamonds – or in this case, emeralds – on a metal surface, otherwise known as pavé, the French word for pavement. Crafted with just over a carat of the finest quality emeralds, this setting is unlike any other. The theme of masculine and feminine balance has carried through here as well, juxtaposing a very intricately feminine setting in white gold against a more masculine band in yellow gold.

The Deco Ring

The Deco Ring was designed for brides who appreciate the singular beauty of unconventional opulence. With tapered ends and brilliant faceting, the Marquise cut of the center stone contrasts with the constellation of high-quality pavé diamonds to create a seamless, decadent transition between stone and setting. Nodding to the glamorous symmetry of the art deco era, this ring combines the wow factor of a fabulous vintage cocktail ring with the easy elegance and comfort of a piece you’ll never take off.
